World Humanitarian Day celebrates the work of humanitarian workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and mobilizes people to advocate for humanitarian action.

Since 2007, the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) works to improve the living conditions of refugees, returnee populations, and vulnerable households of host communities in Chad. To make it happen, over 200 LWF staff are working hard across the vast country. Katie Schlaudt is one of them.

Far from the comfort of the capital city, Katie works in remote regions to deliver assistance to those who need it most. The committed humanitarian worker tells about her work and motivation.
